ABOUT ME
Hello there, my name is Genesia Emery!
I am an instructional designer and curriculum developer with 8+ years of experience in the industry. I design and develop human-centered learning solutions that push the bounds of creativity, are fueled by data, and grounded in research-based instructional strategies. I enjoy scripting & storytelling, creating engaging branching scenarios, structuring & designing curricula, project management, and developing immersive eLearning experiences that help organizations improve performance.
I love the challenge of increasing engagement and effectiveness by collaborating with stakeholders and subject matter experts (SME’s) to analyze data & identify learning needs, design & develop comprehensive & innovative learning solutions, and to implement and evaluate how they have impacted learners. To move through this process I use a combination of instructional design models like ADDIE, Action Mapping, SAM, and the Kirkpatrick Model of Evaluation. Once goals and objectives are clear and measurable, I design scripts, storyboards, outlines, and assessments that are strategically aligned.
Instructional design quenches my thirst for both creativity and learning. Early on, after being ignited with a joy and passion for learning, I made it my mission to empower learners so that they, too, can experience that same joy and passion. I believe that to experience the joy of learning is to be empowered, and to be empowered is to experience freedom. Once we are free, we are able to leave our unique mark on the world.
My passions also include music & media, reading books, and traveling.
